La Liga giants, Real Madrid C.F. has announced, that Álvaro Arbeloa will coach Castilla starting in the 2025-2026 season.
Arbeloa is a Real Madrid legend and in Spanish football, and one of the Los Blancos’ most iconic home-grown players.
The Spaniard scaled through the Club’s youth ranks in 2001 as a Juvenil A player, and in the 2004-2005 season, he was part of the Castilla side that clinched promotion to the Second Division.
He fielded 238 times for Real Madrid first team between 2009 and 2016. Within these seven seasons, one of the most successful periods in the Club’s history started. He clinched two (2) European Cups, one (1) Club World Cup, one (1) European Super Cup, one (1) LaLiga title, two (2) Copa del Rey titles, and one (1) Spanish Super Cup.
Arbeloa recorded 56 appearances for the Spain senior national team. He lifted the unforgettable 2010 World Cup in South Africa as well as two (2) European Championships, in 2008 and 2012.
He left Premier League side, Liverpool, to join Real Madrid where he appeared in 98 games in three (3) seasons.
His whole coaching career started with Real Madrid youth teams since 2020. He managed the Infantil A (U13) team in the 2020-2021 season, emerging victorious in the league title, the Cadete A (U15) team in 2021-2022, and the Juvenil A (U19) team from 2022 to 2025.
As manager of the Juvenil A team, he clinched the treble in 2022-2023: LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and Copa de Campeones. He has also won LaLiga this season and is competing in the final four of the Copa de Campeones currently.
