Chelsea boosted its Champions League qualification hopes with a 3-1 triumph over new Kings of England, Liverpool.
The Blues got off to a beautiful start when Enzo Fernandez put the hosts in front after just three minutes and the home side never looked like surrendering lead.
An own-goal from Jarrell Quansah early in the second half was just reward for Chelsea and despite Virgil Van Dijk scoring with a header in the 85th minute, Cole Palmer sealed victory at the Bridge from the penalty spot deep in the 6th minute of additional time.
While Liverpool are already Premier League 2024/25 Champions and needn’t put much energy into the game, Chelsea are 5th with 63 points, same as Newcastle United who are 4th, also fighting for a spot in next season’s Champions League.
