Pope Leo XIV Inauguration: Another lie ‘not for the first, or even tenth time’ – Reno Omokri reacts after headline says, ‘Vatican security blocks Seyi during Tinubu’s meeting with Pope’

Reno Omokri has reacted to a headline by Nigerian Information Platform, ‘Daily Trust’, which says, ‘This Isn’t Nigeria: Vatican Security blocks Seyi during Tinubu’s meeting with Pope’.

He said, “again, Daily Trust lied. Not for the first, or even tenth time. This is a pattern of behaviour. Just like the breasted hermaphrodite on Arise TV, they are passing off propaganda as news.”

Omokri urged Nigerians to “watch the video of President Tinubu’s handshake with Pope Leo XIV. It is on my social media profiles. Watch it and do not rely on Daily Trust’s jaundiced reporting.”

He said, “at no time did Seyi Tinubu attempt to approach the new Pope. What happened, which is clear from the video, and which has been verified from eyewitnesses at the event, is that Seyi TInubu was on his father, President Tinubu’s entourage.”

President Bola Tinubu, “Head of the Nigerian delegation” was invited “personally” by Pope Leo XIV for the inauguration of the His Holiness at the Vatican in Rome, Italy. Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi; former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, alongside other top Nigerians personalities were at the Vatican to witness the beginning of a new Papacy.

Reno continued, “Daily Trust has a history of negatively and dishonestly reporting news events surrounding Southern Presidents and their families. Alas, they make no effort to hide that they are a propaganda machine with a regional agenda. On more than one occasion, they have been forced to apologise after reporting lies, such as the lie that the SAMOA agreement entered into by the TInubu administration was an LGBTQ agenda.”

In his reaction to Daily Trust’s headline of what happened between Seyi Tinubu and the Vatican officials, Reno Omokri said: “Again, Daily Trust lied. Not for the first, or even tenth time. This is a pattern of behaviour. Just like the breasted hermaphrodite on Arise TV, they are passing off propaganda as news. I urge Nigerians to watch the video of President Tinubu’s handshake with Pope Leo XIV. It is on my social media profiles. Watch it and do not rely on Daily Trust’s jaundiced reporting.

“At no time did Seyi Tinubu attempt to approach the new Pope. What happened, which is clear from the video, and which has been verified from eyewitnesses at the event, is that Seyi TInubu was on his father, President Tinubu’s entourage. After the President and the Pope had their tête-à-tête, Seyi made to follow his father as he left after his one-on-one, and the Vatican officials ushered him in a slightly different direction.

“Daily Trust has a history of negatively and dishonestly reporting news events surrounding Southern Presidents and their families. Alas, they make no effort to hide that they are a propaganda machine with a regional agenda. On more than one occasion, they have been forced to apologise after reporting lies, such as the lie that the SAMOA agreement entered into by the TInubu administration was an LGBTQ agenda.

“And for those who ask why Seyi Tinubu is in his father’s entourage, this is a normal procedure and in line with international best practices. For example, under President Clinton, his daughter, Chelsea, played an active role in the government. She officially represented the United States Government at various functions. One such event was a State Visit to Nigeria between August 27-29, 2000, where she represented her mother, the U.S. First Lady.

“During Margaret Thatcher’s Prime Ministerial tenure, her son, Sir Mark Thatcher, was particularly active in her government and followed her on official trips, where his mother, the Prime Minister, introduced him as one of the more reliable business people from Britain. Daily Trust have seen that Seyi Tinubu is an invaluable asset to his father as a responsible liege to the President, and in their determination to undermine the Tinubu administration, they have targeted the young entrepreneur as a target for their psychological warfare.

“Nigerians are therefore urged to realise their antics and take their reportage of the First Family with a pinch of salt.”
