Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, alongside other world leaders, joined thousands of Gabonese citizens as Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema was inaugurated as President of Gabon.
Nguema emerged President of Gabon on April 12, 2025 after beating seven (7) other other candidates in the presidential election.
Nguema’s inauguration ceremony, took place at the Stade de l’Amitié Sino-Gabonaise in Libreville, Gabon
VP Shettima (@officialSKSM) said: “In a true show of support for Africa’s democracy, Vice President @KashimSM, alongside other world leaders, on Saturday joined thousands of Gabonese citizens as Brice Clotaire @oliguinguema was inaugurated as the President of Gabon.
“This followed his election victory on April 12, 2025, when he emerged victorious after defeating seven other candidates to win the presidential election. Nguema had served as the interim president for twenty months following a change in government and the ouster of former President Ali Bongo.”
