Benue State government has announced, the transformation of Lobi Stars FC home ground, Aper Aku Stadium, “into a world-class facility is underway.”

The tramformation of the edifice is “thanks to the pragmatic leadership of Governor @HyacinthAlia .”

Lobi Stars, based in Makurdi, Benue State, alongside Sunshine Stars have been relegated to Nigeria’s second football tier as both are bottom clubs on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2024/25 table.

Their relegation was confirmed following Matchday 37 on Sunday 11 May, 2025.
