2024 CAF African Footballer of the Year, Ademola Lookman, visited President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos on Friday 30 May, 2025.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria and Italian Serie A club, Atalanta BC, forward, paid the President a visit with his 2024 CAF POTY award.
Special Adviser, Media & Public Communication/Spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu, Sunday Dare, wrote: “Lookman’s humility and patriotism is writ-large. He is a worthy Nigerian Ambassador.”
Nigeria and Atalanta sharpshooter, Ademola Lookman, clinched the Player Of The Year (Men) award at the CAF Awards 2024 held in Morocco.
The CAF Awards 2024 took place in the city of Marrakesh, Morocco on Monday 16 December, 2024.
Prior to winning the 2024 CAF POTY award, Lookman helped Atalanta BC discomfit German Bundesliga side, Bayer Leverkusen, in the final of the Uefa Europa League 2023/24 by three (3) goals to nothing (0).
All three goals were netted by the Super Eagles goal machine; the outcome put to an end Xabi Alonso’s unbeaten run in the 2023/24 season.
Atalanta BC tagged Lookman “history maker” after winning the award as the Nigerian player described his emergence as the Best Player in Africa as a “blessing”.
