President Bola Tinubu has announced, he will commission the completed first section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Superhighway.
He said, the first section of the Lagos-Calabar Superhighway is “a critical artery for trade, tourism, and national integration.”
The President also announced, he will commission other completed road projects across the country.
The Presidency had earlier announced the President will commission several projects in Lagos after attending the ECOWAS Golden Jubilee which took place in Lagos State.
On Wednesday 28 May, 2025, West African Leaders converged at the Eko Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos to mark the 50th anniversary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The only surviving founding father of the Bloc and former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, attended the event; ECOWAS was established on 28 May, 1975, it has its Headquarters in Abuja, with President Bola Tinubu as Chairman.
The President said, “under our Renewed Hope Agenda, infrastructure will not just be brick and mortar alone”, but, it will bring about “economic growth, job creation and national unity”.
President Tinubu announced: “In a few minutes, I will be commissioning the completed first section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Superhighway, a critical artery for trade, tourism, and national integration.
“We will also commission other completed road projects across the country.
“Under our Renewed Hope Agenda, infrastructure will not just be brick and mortar alone. Our administration will ensure that sustainable, impactful infrastructure becomes the backbone of economic growth, job creation, opportunities, and national unity for our dear Nation, Nigeria.”
