Governor Abioun At 65: ‘I rededicate myself to the vision of a more prosperous Ogun State’

As he marks his 65th birthday today, Thursday 29 May, 2025, Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, rededicates himself “to the vision of a more prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable Ogun State — where every citizen can thrive and every community feels seen.”

The Governor said, he will never take “for granted the journey that has brought me this far”, adding, it is “a journey shaped by divine mercy, the unwavering support of my family and friends”.

Dapo Abiodun has been serving as the Governor of Ogun State for the past six (6) years – since 2019 – describing the experience as “humbling and fulfilling”.

He was born on 29 May, 1960 in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.

Expresssing has gratitude and renewed commitment at 65, Governor Abiodun wrote: “Today, as I mark my 65th birthday, my heart is filled with gratitude to the Almighty God for the gift of life, the grace of leadership, and the privilege to serve the good people of Ogun State. I do not take for granted the journey that has brought me this far — a journey shaped by divine mercy, the unwavering support of my family, friends, and the trust reposed in me by our people.

“These past six years as Governor of Ogun State have been both humbling and fulfilling. I have learned, grown, and drawn strength from the resilience of our citizens and the collective determination to build a state we can all be proud of. Every milestone we have reached is a testament to what is possible when leadership is driven by purpose and backed by the people.

“As I celebrate this personal milestone, I am reminded that the true measure of a life well-lived is not in the number of years, but in the impact made. I rededicate myself to the vision of a more prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable Ogun State — where every citizen can thrive and every community feels seen.

“The journey continues, and by God’s grace, the best is yet to come.”
