The final medals table of the 22nd National Sports Festival has Delta State as winner with 337 medals in total.
The 22nd National Sports Festival, tagged, ‘Gateway Games 2024’ started on 16 May and concluded on Friday 30 May, 2025.
At the closing ceremony of the Games on Thursday 29 May, 2025, Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, said, “this is not just the end of the Festival, it is the beginning of a new era of sports development in Ogun State”.
With more than 14,000 athletes from across the country, Team Delta emerged victorious with 337 medals – 126 Gold, 100 Silver and 111 Bronze; host State, Ogun State, who were at the third spot, managed to climb to second with a total of 238 medals – 93 Gold, 65 Silver and 80 Bronze; while Bayelsa who were second dropped down to third, finishing with a total of 228 medals – 92 Gold, 65 Silver and 71 Bronze.
The National Sports Commission (NSC) extended its congratulations to the athletes, coaches, officials and States “for their incredible performances and unwavering spirit throughout the festival.”
The Gateway Games 2024 which concluded today “was a moment of pride not only for us as a state but for the entire nation”, Governor of host State, Dapo Abiodun, said.
In its congratulatory message to all the participants at the Games, the NSC wrote: “The final medal table for the 22nd National Sports Festival – Gateway Games Ogun 2024.
“Congratulations to all the athletes, coaches, officials, and states for their incredible performances and unwavering spirit throughout the festival.
“This celebration of talent, unity, and excellence has once again proven that sport is a true unifier of our nation.”
