Vincenzo Italiano finally lifted a trophy as Bologna edged past AC Milan to secure Coppa Italia glory on Wednesday night.
Bologna clinched just their third Coppa Italia title after Dan Ndoye’s strike in the 53rd minute proved enough in a 1-0 final victory over AC Milan.
Ndoye converted a rebound to score what turned out to be the winner, as Bologna revelled in Coppa glory for the first time since 1974.
Wednesday’s win also marked something of a redemption story for Vincenzo Italiano, Bologna head coach, who had lost three finals in the last two seasons as Fiorentina boss, including the Coppa in 2022-23 against Inter.
