Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, made known, he has flagged off the reconstruction of the Ibom International Convention Centre and Hotels on Wednesday 28 May, 2025.
He said, the project which started “15 years ago” will be completed under the ARISE Agenda.
The Governor said, with the State-owned Ibom Air, a modern Airport, the ARISE Resort and “these renewed facilities”, his administration is “positioning our State as Nigeria’s tourism hub”.
He said, the reconstruction of the Ibom International Convention Centre and Hotels will “unlock the full potential of tourism” of the South-South State.
Governor Eno said: “Yesterday, I flagged off the reconstruction of the Ibom International Convention Centre and Hotels. This project began over 15 years ago but is now set to be completed under the ARISE Agenda.
“I believe God kept this assignment for us so we could bring in the right vision, expertise, and finishing grace to make it truly world-class. This is not just about infrastructure; it’s about preparing Akwa Ibom for growth beyond oil by unlocking the full potential of tourism.
“With Ibom Air, a modern airport, the ARISE Resort, and now these renewed facilities, we are positioning our State as Nigeria’s tourism hub.”
