Bayern Munich head coach, Vincent Kompany, said, Italian Serie A giants, Inter, are “dangerous on counter-attack, and build at set-pieces.”
Both sides will be hoping to clinch a first leg advantage tomorrow night.
German Bundesliga Leaders, Bayern Munich, will welcome Inter for the Uefa Champions League quarter final encounter at Allianz Arena on Tuesday 8 April, 2025 at 20:00 (WAT).
At his press conference ahead of the match, the Belgian manager said, Inter “score a lot of goals because they have very good players, but we do that too – we score a lot of goals as well.”
Kompany said:
On the personnel for tomorrow’s match:
“We’re looking ahead and we trust that the guys who play tomorrow will perform. I’m not in the mood for moaning – I don’t want to alter my goals because we have injuries. My thoughts are only on what can happen if we perform at our best.”
On the role of the team:
“Everyone has their role and has contributed across different points of the season, so that we are where we are today. My style is not to publicly evaluate individual players. Everyone has contributed, not only on the pitch through their performances, but also off it in various roles.”
On the absence of Jamal Musiala:
“We have already played this season without Jamal and we can find solutions, including creative options that we have at our disposal. For me, it’s only about tomorrow. We can’t replace Jamal directly with such a talent, so we have to solve it collectively as a team.”
On facing Inter:
“They’re a team that always finds its moments. They’re dangerous, not just on the counter-attack, but they’re also good at build-up play and set-pieces. They score a lot of goals because they have very good players, but we do that too – we score a lot of goals as well.”
On Neuer and Coman:
“The squad is developing daily. I hope they will be there for the second leg, but I don’t want to put any pressure on them. There’s no guarantee.”
On the approach to tomorrow’s match:
“We can talk tactically about what Inter does well, but we also need to consider qualities like character, heart and emotion. That’s all part of it – we showed in the last round against Leverkusen that we can do it. What’s important to me is that we’re mentally ready tomorrow and show personality.”
