It was absolutely jaw-dropping as Arsenal made light work of Real Madrid in the Uefa Champions League quarter final first leg on the night of Tuesday 8 April , 2025 at Emirates Stadium thanks to two (2) beautiful free-kicks from Englishman, Declan Rice.
The result has caused fans to celebrate wildly as the Gunners put three (3) past their Spanish visitors.
Rice opened scoring for Mikel Arteta’s side in the 58th minute and went ahead to add the second in the 70th minute, both goals from the free-kick spot.
Mikel Merino sealed the win in the 75th minute with the third to give Arsenal a big advantage as they gear up for the second leg of the quarter final tie at Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid, Spain on Wednesday 16 April, 2025 at 20:00 (WAT).
It was Arsenal’s first showdown with Real Madrid since 2006.
