Sokoto State: State Executive Council approve acquisition of ₦100m property to provide ‘shelter and stability’ for IDPs

Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, announced, the Sokoto State Executive Council has approved several strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure and ensuring the welfare of our citizens.

The Governor listed “the acquisition of a property worth N100 million to provide long-term shelter and stability for internally displaced persons (IDPs)” as one of the several strategic initiatives approved by the Council.

Governor Sokoto disclosed: “In line with our commitment to development, the Sokoto State Executive Council has approved several strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure and ensuring the welfare of our citizens. These initiatives include:

“• The acquisition of a property worth N100 million to provide long-term shelter and stability for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

“• A comprehensive reconstruction of pavements along 27 dualized roads within the state capital.

“• The reconstruction of Zurmi Road in Gawon Nama.

“• The rehabilitation of the Margai–Kebbe Road in Kebbe Local Government Area (LGA).

“• The construction of the access road from Kebbe Bridge to Kebbe Town.

“These efforts demonstrate our administration’s unwavering commitment to inclusive development, resilience, and sustainable progress.”
