Premier League 2024/25: Manchester City 5-2 Crystal Palace – Cityzens win from two goals down

Manchester City came from two (2) goals down to discomfit Crystal Palace 5-2 in the Premier League match at Etihad Stadium on Saturday 12 April, 2025.

Goals from Eberechi Eze and Chris Richards placed Palace two up early, in the 8th and 21st minutes respectively, with Eze having another struck out for offside that would have handed Oliver Glasner’s side a three-goal advantage.

Manchester City rallied and from a free-kick pulled one back in the 33rd minute through wantaway midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne.

In the 36th minute, Egyptian forward, Omar Marmoush lashed in a quickfire second, converting Ilkay Gundogan’s assist.

Mateo Kovacic, James McAtee an Nico O’Reilly scored the third, fourth and fifth for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 47th, 56th and 79th minutes to help City climb into the top four.

On De Bruyne, who has announced his exit from Etihad Stadium, Guardiola said: “He played fantastic.

“He helped us break this momentum that was not good.”

HC: How did Crystal Palace allow this to happen? Were they sleeping when struggling Manchester City started scoring?!
