President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, met with President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskky, privately, in St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, Rome, Italy.
Both leaders are in Rome for the funeral of Pope Francis today, Saturday 26 April, 2025.
Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church and Sovereign of the Vatican City State, passed at the age of eighty-eight (88) on Easter Monday, 21 April, 2025.
The White House said: “President Trump sat down to meet privately with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City this morning.”
More than 200,000 people converged for the funeral for Pope Francis.
