President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has reflected “with emotion” on Pope Francis’ visit to the city of Marseille in France in September, 2023.
The French President described the Holy See’s visit as “a breath of fraternity and a moment of peace.”
Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church and Sovereign of the Vatican City State, passed on Easter Monday at the age of eighty-eight (88).
President Macron wrote: “As we pay tribute to Pope Francis, I reflect with emotion on his visit to Marseille in September 2023. A breath of fraternity, a moment of peace and hope, engraved in the heart of the Nation.”
Hus Holiness’s funeral is currently taking place at the Vatican, Rome, Italy today, Saturday 26 April, 2025.
