Arda Guler netted the only goal as Real Madrid beat Getafe in the La Liga match on Wednesday 23 April, 2025 to reduce Barcelona’s lead at the top of La Liga to four points.
After being kicked out of the Uefa Champions League 2024/25 last week by English side, Arsenal, Carlo Ancelotti and his players were under heightening pressure to clinch something from this season.
Guler scored for Real Madrid with a rifled effort in the 21st minute that was too much for Getafe goalkeeper David Soria.
With this result, Real Madrid are second with 72 points, trailing toppers, Barcelona, by four (4) points, while Getafe are 12th with 39 points.
In his post-victory comments, Güler said: “I scored a great goal and I’m thrilled with the three points.”
