The Government of Delta State as reacted to the decision of decamping the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori,.
It said, the “landmark decision” is “aimed at advancing the progress and unity of Delta State”.
According to the Delta State Government: “In a landmark decision aimed at advancing the progress and unity of Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, alongside key leaders and stakeholders, has officially transitioned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The historic announcement was made today at Government House, Asaba, following extensive consultations with communities across the state.
“Speaking on the development, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, stated that Governor Oborevwori chose the APC platform to further cement the development of the state and foster stronger collaboration that every Deltan can be proud of.
“Mr. Aniagwu further explained that the move away from the PDP became necessary due to unfortunate developments at the party’s national level. He added that the meeting provided an opportunity for the leaders of the PDP to advise on the next course of action, culminating in Governor Oborevwori’s decision to join the APC.”
HC: Wow! Does this mean PDP has been a hinderance to the “progress and unity” of Delta State all these years? Alright, let wait and see…!
