Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso, has expressed his disappointment in his post-defeat comments, after his side were stopped by Arminia Bielefeld from reaching the final of the DFB Cup 2024/25.
Alonso said, “we are disappointed, we didn’t play well.”
The Spaniard’s Black and Reds took the lead when Jonathan Tah scored in the 17th minute, but, Bielefeld levelled through Wörl, and Grosser sealed the win to help the third tier club reach the final.
“Congrats to Arminia Bielefeld for a deserved victory tonight. We are disappointed. Today we had a lot of hope to get back to Berlin but we didn’t play well and not much worked for us. It hurts”, Alonso said after the match.
