Copa Del Rey 2024/25: Barcelona 3-2 Real Madrid – Rudiger apologizes for throwing object at referee in final

Real Madrid German defender, Antonio Rudiger, has come out to apologize for throwing an object at the referee during the Copa Del Rey final between his side and Barcelona on Saturday night.

He wrote: “There’s definitely no excuse for my behaviour last night. I’m very sorry for that.”

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-2 to emerge the new Copa Del Rey Kings at Seville on Saturday 26 April, 2025.

Rudiger, Jude Bellingham and Lucas Vazquez were sent off during the showdown for aggressive attitude towards the referee.

In his apology, Rudiger wrote: “There’s definitely no excuse for my behaviour last night. I’m very sorry for that. We played a very good game from the 2nd half on – After 111 minutes I was not able to help my team anymore and before the final whistle I did a mistake. Sorry again to the referee and to everyone I have disappointed last night.”

This win means Barcelona have emerged victorious in all three (3) Clasicos against Real Madrid this campaign.
