Akpabio V Natasha: ‘Petition for recall of Kogi Central Senator has not met requirement of the Constitution of Nigeria’ – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said, “the petition for the recall of the Senator representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District has not met the requirement of the Constitution of Nigeria.”

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, is fighting for her return to the Senate after being slammed with a 6-month suspension.

She was placed on suspension by the Ethics Committee of the Nigerian Senate after claiming she was sexually harassed by Godswill Akpabio, President of the Nigerian Senate.

INEC said: “The petition for the recall of the Senator representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District has not met the requirement of Section 69(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

“Detailed statement shortly.”
