In his congratulatory message to former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, after winning the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize, 2023 Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, wrote: “Congratulations to former president Dr Goodluck Jonathan, @GEJonathan, on being awarded the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize and, importantly, the first African leader to receive this honour.
