Uefa Champions League 2024/25: Liverpool 0(1)-(4)1 PSG – Slot’s Reds knocked out on penalties

Liverpool have been thrown out of the Uefa Champions League after Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) made history to knock them out on penalties at Anfield.

French Ligue 1 side, PSG, were targeting to emerge the first team ever to knock Liverpool out of a European tie after the Reds had won the first leg away from home and achieved the feat from the spot after Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones saw penalties saved by goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The French Kings were heading into the encounter with a lone goal deficit from the game in Paris last week, however, Ousmane Dembele levelled it up early in the game from close range and, improbably, it finished 1-1 on aggregate with neither side able to find the back of the net again.

The Les Parisiens won 4-1 on penalties and will now play the winner of Aston Villa and Club Brugge in the last eight.

Uefa Champions League 2024/25 – Tuesday 11 March, 2025

Barcelona 3-1 Benfica
Bayer Leverkusen 0-2 Bayern Munich
