Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, joined the family of late Prof. Humphrey Nwosu to receive his body at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu on Friday 21 March, 2025.
Obi tagged the former NEC Chairman “a true hero of democracy and an embodiment and shining example of the kind of leadership we need at the helm of the National Electoral Commission.”
The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party wrote: “I joined the family of the late Prof. Humphrey Nwosu to receive his body at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu. Prof. Humphrey Nwosu remains a true hero of democracy, an embodiment and shining example of the kind of leadership we need at the helm of the National Electoral Commission if we truly desire to be a democratic nation.
“May God grant future generations a country where elections are conducted with the integrity and transparency exemplified by Prof. Nwosu’s life and service. May the Almighty God, who has called him home, grant him eternal rest, and grant his family – and all of us who mourn him – the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.”
