After learning of the news of the “tragic fire incident that claimed the precious lives of 17 students” at Makarantar Mallam Ghali Almajiri School in Zamfara State, former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, said, he is “devastated”.

The Waziri Adamawa added, “It is even more saddening that the youngsters lost their lives in the process of getting an education against all odds.”
Atiku expressed his “deepest condolences” to the families of all deceased children.
In his condolence message, Atiku wrote: “I am devastated by the news of the tragic fire incident that claimed the precious lives of 17 students at the Makarantar Mallam Ghali Almajiri School in Kauran Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State. It is even more saddening that the youngsters lost their lives in the process of getting an education against all odds.
My thoughts and prayers are with the families of all deceased children. My deepest condolences are conveyed to the families, the students and staff of Makarantar Mallam Ghali Almajiri School, and the government and people of Zamfara State. May they be granted Aljannah Firdaus. Ameen.”
