The Governor who went in company of Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye and heads of security agencies in the state, “emphasized our administration’s zero tolerance for violence and promised to constitute a panel of inquiry to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the crisis”.
According to Governor Adeleke: “In company of the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun (@AOEgbedun), Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye and heads of security agencies in the state including the Nigerian Army (@HQNigerianArmy), Air Force (@NigeriaAirforce), Nigeria Police (@PoliceNG), NSCDC (@official_NSCDC), Amotekun and Vigilante groups among others, I paid a condolence visit and an inspection tour of Ido Ayegunle and Esa Oke communities over the recent breakdown of law and order that led to wanton destruction of properties in the two communities.
In my address to leaders and people of the two communities respectively, I emphasized our administration’s zero tolerance for violence and promised to constitute a panel of inquiry to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the crisis with an assurance that anyone found culpable, no matter how highly placed, will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
“I implored both communities to embrace peace as the only catalyst for development and the need for the people to shun any act that is capable of breaching peace and tranquility in their domain.
I promised to look into all petitions submitted on the crisis and vowed of our commitment to ensuring that peace returns to the warring communities.
I concluded by appreciating law enforcement agencies for their prompt response towards containing the crisis and promised that the panel of inquiry will investigate all requests on the Chieftaincy status of Ido Ayegunle.”
