They asked Jesus, “why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders?”

Intro

In our world today, there are various beliefs and Christian sects claiming their loyalty to the Almighty God, however, taking a keen look at them, you will discover they are filled with fallacy, human (ungodly) insight and devilish origination.

The union of the body of Christ that is true should never be at the sacrifice of loyalty to God. Read Galatians 5:13.

Disloyalty to our Lord and Saviour means denying of OR subtracting from the complete counsel of God’s word – so, we have to be watchful/careful of the kind of culture/belief we imbibe which might be subtly cogent enough to douse our loyalty to God without even realizing.

Facts About Culture

  • Structure of shared beliefs, customs, values, behaviours that members of a society use to survive with one another and the world
  • Embodies our beliefs
  • Changes continuously
  • Expressed through symbols like music, art and dance
  • It can give people a sense of belonging as well as sense of security and safety

Facts About Beliefs

  • Something you regard to being true
  • Most are formed at a very early age in our lives and based on our environment
  • Opinions/conclusions we draw from our experiences
  • Cannot be proven scientifically
  • People’s beliefs can be strongly influenced by their culture, upbringing and personal experiences

Conclusion

People shape beliefs about themselves, others, the world and God.
Christians must challenge and update their beliefs to conform with loyalty to God and His word (The Bible).
