President Bola Tinubu alongside the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, are back in Abuja after attending the AU Summit 2025 in Ethiopia.
The AU Summit 2025 which started on Saturday 15 February concluded on Sunday 16 February, 2025.
At the Summit, President Tinubu called for a combined Maritime Task Force for the Gulf of Guinea, and Navy to provide Sea lift services.
The Nigerian President commended his Rwandan and Kenyan counterparts, Paul Kagame and William Ruto, for their AU reform proposals, as he opposed the move to split AU’s Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security.
On the sidelines of the AU Summit 2025, First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, said, “Africa is still facing issues on health, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), Child marriage, gender-based violence and Girl Child Education.”
The Nigerian First Lady made the statement as she spoke at the 29th General Assembly of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD).
