Crockett said, “Trump signed more executive orders on Inauguration Day than any President in history.”

Donald Trump has signed approximately 200 executive orders, actions and memos in just 24 hours in Office; he was sworn in as 47th President of the United States (US) on Monday 20 January, 2024 by Chief Justice John Roberts.

According to Congresswoman Crockett: “Yesterday, Trump signed more executive orders on Inauguration Day than any President in history.

Every day this week, I’ll be breaking down Trump’s attacks on your rights and freedoms.

First up: immigration rights and birthright citizenship.

“Trump’s ‘Ending Birthright Citizenship’ order violates the 14th Amendment by stripping citizenship from people with non-citizen parents.

Impacts: mixed-status families could be separated or deported, & ICE could start investigating citizenship of newborns in hospitals

“Trump’s ‘Military Deployment’ order sends military personnel to patrol our U.S. border.

Impacts: Police State surveillance in border communities; greater risk of violence to citizens, non-citizens, and servicemembers

“Trump’s ‘Alien Enemies’ order resurrects the law that detained Japanese-Americans in internment camps during WWII and allows President to detain/deport natives & citizens of an “enemy nation”.

Impacts: Families deported or thrown into detention camps without due process

“Trump’s ‘Sanctuary’ order would steal federal funding from cities with so-called ‘sanctuary policies’; despite the fact that these cities provide FAR MORE tax revenue to the Feds than they receive.

Impacts: Budget cuts impacting schools, police, roads, hospitals, etc

“Trump’s ‘Deportation Priority’ order prioritizes targeting workplaces, hospitals, school pick-up, or people who call emergency services rather than focusing on arresting & detaining dangerous criminals.

Impacts: Labor shortages in critical sectors & preventable deaths

“Trump’s ‘Increased Detention’ order would push more federal resources into building and operating detention facilities and camps rather than needs of local communities

Impacts: family separation, human rights abuses, and citizens mistakenly being detained or deported

“Trump’s ‘Police State Expansion’ order empowers state and local police to enforce immigration law—

think Operation Lone Star on a nationwide scale.

Impacts: Increased injuries and deaths resulting from police chases, increased crime as police resources are redirected

“Trump’s ‘Ending CBP One’ order has halted the CBP One app that was created so migrants can request an appointment with an immigration officer—

making it nearly impossible to enter the country legally

Impacts: chaos at the border, more illegal border crossings

“Trump’s ‘Refugee’ order suspends refugee admissions for 90 days.

Impacts: Refugees forced to return to dangerous situations, economic decline in American towns revitalized by refugee communities

“Trump’s ‘Ending Asylum’ order violates federal law by ending humanitarian asylum.

Impacts: Refugees targeted because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion could be tortured or killed.”
