While Manchester United are battling to climb away from the increasing threat of a relegation battle under Ruben Amorim, Liverpool looked to restore their eight-point lead at the top.
In the second 45 minutes, Lisandro Martinez opened the scoring with a beautiful effort from a tight angle, only for Gakpo to level shortly before the hour mark, and Mohamed Salah hit the back of the net from the penalty spot when Matthijs de Ligt handled to put the hosts ahead.
With 10 minutes left, Amad Diallo got ahead of Andy Robertson to level for the visitors.
On the other side, Fulham and Ipswich Town finished 2-2.
