13th President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, has reacted to the “horrific” petrol tanker explosion which happened in Niger State “claiming the lives of at least 80 people and injuring many more”.

Saraki said, the “devastating tragedy demands immediate attention and action”, adding, “this incident is a grim reminder of the risks Nigerians take to survive and highlights the poor state of our road infrastructure”.

According to Saraki: “The horrific petrol tanker explosion that occurred yesterday at Dikko Junction, Niger State, claiming the lives of at least 80 people and injuring many more, is a devastating tragedy that demands immediate attention and action.


This incident is a grim reminder of the risks Nigerians take to survive and highlights the poor state of our road infrastructure and inadequate vehicle maintenance, which together contribute to such accidents.


Addressing these systemic issues is essential to prevent further tragedies and ensure the safety of all citizens.
