“Under this Executive Order, the entire Enugu East, Enugu North, Enugu South, Udi, Nkanu West, Nkanu East, and Nsukka LGAs are now classified as urban areas. Additionally, specific parts of Aninri, Awgu, Ezeagu, Igbo-Etiti, Igbo Eze North, Igbo Eze South, Isi-Uzo, Oji-River, Udenu, and Uzo-Uwani LGAs have been designated as urban areas.

This milestone aligns with our vision to make land transactions transparent, efficient, and corruption-free. It complements the Enugu State Geographic Information System (ENGIS), which we launched recently to streamline applications for land titles and administrative processes.

With this regulation, there shall be no more hidden charges in land transactions. Also, double allocations and land grabbing are a thing of the past. And there will be clear timelines and fees for all land-related applications. Residents in newly designated urban areas can now apply for Certificates of Occupancy, enhancing their property rights.

Our administration remains committed to creating an environment that fosters ease of doing business and promotes economic development. I thank my team for their outstanding work, and I assure Ndi Enugu of extensive public enlightenment to ensure everyone understands the new processes.”
