The wildfires in Los Angeles, California have killed at least 24 people, with dozens missing.
Pope Francis wrote: “I express my closeness to the residents of Los Angeles County, California, where devastating fires have raged in recent days. I pray for all of you.”
Crews have recorded some progress, however, officials say the fire threat will remain high as dangerous winds return this week.
According to figures released by Cal Fire, the total area burned by the Palisades, Eaton and Hurst fires is approximately 38,629 acres.
