Deuteronomy 7:9
Deuteronomy 7:9

Intro

All through the scripture, God’s people are typically called to be loyal to Him. 1 Kings 8:61.

It is good that a man be found loyal every time. Stewardship requires Loyalty.

Those who are in Leadership in Church should be seen as Ministers by the Church i.e. stewards/servants with the task to ensure the message of Christ is spread or the work of God is done.

Regulations for Loyalty

  1. Requires Reliability: God is a “jealous God”. Allowing anything to take His position in one’s life means “provoking Him to anger”. Exodus 20:5 | Deuteronomy 32:16
  2. Requires Obedience: A person must be single-minded with anything that has to do with the Almighty God. Obedience to God’s rules mean Loyalty, and attracts fulfilment of his promises in one’s life. Obedience is very essential in a believer’s relationship with God. Psalm 37:18
  3. Understanding Christian Teachings: This refers to specific beliefs/doctrines of the Bible on various subjects/matters. A Minister in Church that is not loyal to Christian Teachings will find it difficult to be loyal in doing the work of God. John 7:16-17
  4. Requires Discipline: Murmuring is definitely not allowed in the journey to 100% loyalty; the entire Children of Israel “murmured” against Moses and Aaron – this is a sign of disloyalty. Numbers 14:2-4.
  5. Requires Commitment: Ruth’s loyalty to her mother-in-law, Naomi, did not waver for a second despite losing her husband. She went ahead to commit herself to Naomi, saying, “…thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.” Ruth 1:16-17.

Conclusion

Jesus Christ is the best teacher of Loyalty. He was and still is loyal to His Father, the Almighty God. As believers, we should follow the examples of Christ.

Prayer:

O’Lord, give me the grace to be loyal to You!
Feel free to share this Truth. The word of God is nothing but the Truth. And only the Truth shall set us free!
