Governor Of Bayelsa State, Duoye Diri, presides over the 149th State Executive Council meeting |
Diri said, “the outgone year 2024 was very eventful and successful”, adding, “the new year, 2025 holds a greater promise for our people”.
According to Governor Diri: “Today, I presided over the 149th State Executive Council meeting, the first in the New Year 2025.
I wish to appreciate the good people of Bayelsa State for their peaceful disposition throughout the Christmas and New Year festivities. I acknowledge the efforts of our service commanders for maintaining the peace and security in the State.
Indeed, the outgone year 2024 was very eventful and successful in the journey to our Assured Prosperity and the new year, 2025 holds a greater promise for our people.
In a few weeks, this administration will be celebrating its 5th anniversary and as usual, we will be inaugurating a number of completed projects.
Also, as part of the 5th anniversary, the government will flag-off the construction of new projects.
Hence, at the meeting today, I have directed the relevant ministries to work towards the award of contracts for the construction of the new Stadium and the Secretariat complex this month.
Also, on a sad note, I called for a one minute silence in honour of the late Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Elizabeth Bidei, late DIG Moses Jituboh and HRH Auditor Onakpohor, the late Chief of Ofoni Federated Communities. RIP!”
