On Sunday 1 December, 2024, Liverpool made light work of English Kings, Manchester City, defeating the Cityzens 2-0 in the Premier League 2024/25 match at Anfield, with goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.

The loss is coming following a 3-3 draw in the Uefa Champions League 2024/25 League Phase match against Feyenoord in midweek at Etihad Stadium; Guardiola’s side surrendered a 3-goal lead to end up sharing spoils with the Dutch Eredivisie side.

In his post-defeat comments, Guardiola said: “Three or four players came back [from injury] and the feeling from here is we started to build something.

From here we’re going to try to build, win games and regain our confidence.”

Next for Manchester City is Nottingham Forest in the Premier League 2024/25 match at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 4 December, 2024 at 20:30 (WAT).
