Governor Caleb Mutfwang with Plateau State elders |
Their commendations and constructive advice affirm our resolve to govern with sincerity, inclusiveness, and unwavering dedication to the transformation of our dear state.
Former Military Governor Rear Admiral Samuel Bitrus Atikum’s acknowledgment of our holistic approach to road construction and rehabilitation in the Jos/Bukuru Metropolis reflects our commitment to equitable development. His call for unity across ethnic and political lines in addressing security challenges is a call I wholeheartedly echo.
I am particularly grateful to our former Governors—Sen. Joshua Chibi Dariye, Sen. Jonah David Jang, and Sen. Simon Bako Lalong—for their encouraging words and pledge of steadfast support. Their wisdom and experience remain invaluable in our quest for progress.
The insights shared by other esteemed elders, including Amb. Yahaya Kwande, Chief Samuel Mafwai, and Alh. Mu’azu Babangida Mu’azu, reinforce our shared vision of a Plateau that thrives on unity, peace, and development. Their support, alongside that of our traditional institutions, is vital to uplifting our state.
In our efforts to alleviate hardship, initiatives like the introduction of Metro Buses and the revival of the Jos-Bukuru Railway line demonstrate our commitment to providing practical solutions to citizens’ challenges.
As we move into the new year, I reaffirm my commitment to fostering a secure and prosperous Plateau State. Our investment in surveillance technology and swift security response has begun yielding positive results, enhancing peace and stability across the state.
We are also revitalizing our tourism sector with projects such as the rebuilding of Hill Station Hotel, Plateau State Hotel, and the Jos Abattoir to create employment opportunities and boost internal revenue.
I urge the Tarok and Ronkulere nations to collaborate in presenting unanimous candidates for the Ponshi Tarok and Saf Ronkulere thrones, ensuring the structure of our traditional institution is complete.
To our elders, I assure you that frequent engagements like this will continue as we harness collective wisdom to address our challenges and uplift Plateau State.
Together, let us build a Plateau that exemplifies unity, security, and development for generations to come.
Thank you, and may God bless Plateau State.
