National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) disclosed, the fire disaster in Oba-Ile, Akure North, Ondo State “was as a result of a PHCN power line cable that fell on the building thereby completely razing down the whole furniture company.”

It further disclosed, “no live was lost”, however, “properties worth millions of several was destroyed”.
According to NEMA: “The NEMA Ekiti Operations Office in collaboration with Ondo SEMA and the Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Emergency Response conducted an Assessment of fire Disaster at Oba-ile, Akure North, Ondo State on Wednesday, 4th December 2024.
It was discovered that the fire which occurred at about 1:00am was as a result of a PHCN power line cable that fell on the building thereby completely razing down the whole furniture company known as A.K furnitures and the Adjoining shops.
Although no live was lost, properties worth millions of several was destroyed.”
