Jimmy Carter Passes At 100: He ‘stood for peace, democracy, human rights’ – Amina Mohammed

Sending her condolences following the passing of Jimmy Carter, former US President, Amina Mohammed, United Nations (UN) Deputy Secretary-General, said, “We’ve lost a giant.”

She added, Carter “stood for peace, democracy, human rights and leaving no one behind.”

Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States (US), passed on Sunday 29 December, 2024 “surrounded by his family” at his home in Plains, Georgia.

Amina Mohammed wrote: “We’ve lost a giant. 


Former President Jimmy Carter stood for peace, democracy, human rights and leaving no one behind.  


I will especially remember him for his lifelong commitment to ensuring neglected diseases received the global attention, political will and investments they deserve.
