Guinea: Dozens k*lled in stampede at soccer match

A stampede at a soccer match in the West African country of Guinea has killed at least fifty (50) people and many other injured, as disclosed by authorities.

Fana Soumah, Minister of Information, said via a statement, that, investigations were underway to determine the cause of the stampede at a stadium in the southern city of Nzerekore.

Videos on social media revealed fans scrambling to find their way out of the packed stadium.

Earlier, in a statement, Prime Minister Bah Oury said, “The government deplores the incidents that marred the football match between the Labé and Nzérékoré teams this afternoon in Nzérékoré.


““The government is monitoring the development of the situation and reiterates its call for calm so that hospital services are not hindered in providing first aid to the injured.”
