At least, seventy-one (71) people have died in Ethiopia after a truck loaded with passengers plunged into a river, spokesperson for the southern Sidama regional government revealed.

The regional communication bureau said in a statement issued late on Sunday, the accident happened in the District of Bona.
The death included at least sixty-eight (68) men and three (3) women, spokesperson for the Sidama regional government, Wosenyeleh Simion, revealed to Reuters.
He said: “Five are in a critical condition and taking treatment at Bona General Hospital.”
