Mbah said, “aptly christened the “Budget of Exponential Growth and Inclusive Prosperity” reflects our commitment to transforming Enugu into a hub of opportunities where no one is left behind.”
According to Governor Mbah: “Today, I signed into law the N971 billion Enugu State 2025 Appropriation Bill aptly christened the “Budget of Exponential Growth and Inclusive Prosperity”.
This budget reflects our commitment to transforming Enugu into a hub of opportunities where no one is left behind. With N837.9 billion representing 86% allocated to capital expenditure, and N133.1 billion (14%) for recurrent expenditure. We are laying the foundation for sustainable development across all sectors.
Education, as the bedrock of our future, takes the largest share for the second consecutive year with N320.6 billion (over 33%). This investment underscores our belief that eradicating poverty begins with empowering the mind.
I extend my deepest gratitude to the Enugu State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Hon. Uchenna Ugwu and Deputy Speaker Hon. Ezenta Ezeani, for the speedy passage of the budget. Your dedication and collaboration have delivered a true Christmas gift to Ndi Enugu, ensuring that by January 1st, 2025, we are ready to continue our march towards a greater Enugu State.
As we implement this budget, we are guided by the principle that marginal or incremental growth is not enough for us. Our focus remains on exponential growth, driven by deliberate and intentional actions to ensure that no child in our state goes to bed hungry.
To Ndi Enugu, I assure you that we will sustain the pace of development you are witnessing across all sectors – education, health, tourism, infrastructure, and more. We shall continue to work towards achieving our promise of reducing poverty headcount to zero and transforming our beloved Enugu State into a beacon of hope and excellence.”
