According to Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno: “Last night at the 2024 Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival, I launched the ARISE Home Farmers Scheme (AHFS) to encourage every household to cultivate a farm or garden at home. This initiative aligns with our ARISE Agenda and is inspired by the First Lady of Nigeria’s “Every Home a Garden” program.

Christmas 2024: Governor Eno launch ARISE Home Farmers Scheme at Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival |
“Through this scheme, we’ll empower 50 home farmers with N500,000 each to boost their farms, helping families grow their food and reduce the cost of staples.
In the spirit of Christmas, I’m also happy to announce that workers will receive a 13th-month salary, and 20 bags of rice will be distributed to each of the 2,272 gazetted villages in the state to ensure a joyful celebration in every home. I encourage everyone who has the means to support this effort by donating additional bags of rice in their villages, wards, and local government areas to assist our people and ensure no one is left behind this season.
This year’s theme, “Peace and Holiness with All Men,” reminds us of the essence of the season. Let’s continue to spread love, peace, and kindness, especially to the less privileged. Together, we are building a prosperous Akwa Ibom.
Merry Christmas to everyone!”
