Police revealed, two people participating in Australia’s yearly Sydney to Hobart yacht race have died in separate incidents.

Both crew members lost their lives in separate incidents after being hit by a boom – that huge pole attached horizontally to the bottom of a sail.
Organizers of the event said, the incidents occurred on the Flying Fish Arctos and Bowline.
Later on Friday or early on Saturday, the first boats are expected to arrive in the city of Hobart.
As a result of bad weather, several have retired from the event.
The first incident was reported to officers just before midnight on Thursday by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority in the country’s capital, Canberra, New South Wales (NSW) police disclosed.
On Friday, NSW Police were told that crew aboard the second boat were giving CPR to the second person, which also had not worked.
