The US President made the statement during his participation in the Presidential Armed Forces Full Honor Wreath-Laying Ceremony on Veterans Day.
Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States (US), observed annually on November 11, for honouring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
According to President Biden: “We’re the only nation in the world built on the idea that we are all created equal.
We haven’t always lived up to it. But we’ve never walked away from it.
And today, as we honor those who’ve given everything to our nation, we must say clearly:
We never will.
“Just as our veterans routinely put aside differences to work together – this is a moment for us to come together as a nation.
To keep faith in each other.
To keep protecting everything our fighting force has defended.
And to keep striving to heal our nation’s wounds.
“Today was my last Veterans Day at Arlington as Commander-in-Chief.
To our veterans and service members: It has been the greatest honor of my life to lead you, serve you, care for you, and defend you.
You are the greatest fighting force in the history of the world.”
