Former England captain, Alan Shearer, has described Manchester City as “weak and frail” following the English side’s disappointing performance in the UCL against Feyenoord on Tuesday night.
Dutch club, Feyenoord, came from 0-3 to level and cart home one point from the Etihad Stadium.
In the Uefa Champions League 2024/25 League Phase match on Tuesday 26 November, 2024, Manchester City gave up a 3-goal lead against Feyenoord to end up sharing spoils.
Instead of heading to Anfield on the back of a morale-boosting victory, Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens face their title rivals, Liverpool, on Sunday with more questions about their defending after having to settle for a 3-3 draw.
For the first time since May, 1963, Man City have now conceded two or more goals in six successive matches in all competitions.
Norwegian striker, Erling Braut Haaland, netted a brace for the hosts in the 44th (penalty) and 53rd minutes, and Gundogan scored in the 50th minute, but, the Pride of South fought back and levelled through Hadj Moussa, S. Giménez and D. Hancko in the 75th, 82nd and 89th minutes respectively.
It becoming very obvious, Guardiola’s Manchester City have forgotten how to clinch victory.
Former Newcastle United forward, Shearer, said: “They look weak, they look light, they look frail.
“Even with two minutes to go and 3-2 up, they take a quick free-kick. Why? Kill the game. They were in such a comfortable position.”
