“Was it because China has grown too fast (China’s economy was smaller than Italy’s before 2001 and now the size of EU27 combined)? One said agreed to some extent, saying Europeans in those days looked at China as “exotic”. I guess if China stays away from EVs, 5G, space station, AI and quantum computing and sticks to making toys and garments, many in US and EU will sleep better. But China, India, and Africa are rising and rising super fast. The multipolar world is unstoppable.”
