Enzo Maresca’s side justified their tag as favorites to clinch the Conference League as they cruised past their Belgian guests at home with Renato Veiga opening scoring for the hosts with his first Blues goal in the 12th minute.
Pedro Neto extended Chelsea’s lead with the second just a minute into the second half, and in the 50th minute Tsuyoshi Watanabe pulled one back for Gent.
Christopher Nkunku and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall netted the third and fourth goals in the 63rd and 70th minutes respectively for the Blues before substitute Omri Gandelman scored the second for the visitors in the 90th minute.
