The Spanish manager made the statement at his press conference ahead of the top flight clash against Manchester United.
Emery’s Villans who just came from a stunning lone goal triumph over German giants, Bayern Munich, in the Uefa Champions League 2024/25 League Phase match at the Villa Park on Wednesday 2 October, 2024 will lock horns with Manchester United in the Premier League 2024/25 match on Sunday 6 October, 2024 at 14:00 (WAT).
At his press conference, Emery said:
On being ready for the weekend:
“Being consistent is the most important thing and this is starting on the field… How difficult it is to be competitive and keep being consistent in Europe and how we get to Europe; through the Premier League. To be consistent in the Premier League is the first objective I have.”
On Amadou Onana’s fitness:
“He’s a doubt, but I think that he will be available because it is not a really serious injury.”
On Jacob Ramsey & Leon Bailey’s fitness:
“Both are now doubts. We don’t know if they will be available on Sunday. They are so, so tight if they are available.”
On the mentality of the squad:
“The mentality is building every day. When we are meeting, when we are training, when we are spending time eating with the players – it’s in everything.”
HC: That win against Bayern Munich is a huge morale booster ahead of Sunday!
